Sara Blizzard -
Biography Sara
Blizzard Index Sara Blizzard
first appeared on Leicester Sound in 1993,
presenting the overnight show Nightbeat, which was
broadcast from Mercia FM's studios in
Coventry. Shortly before
the relaunch of Leicester Sound in March 1994, Sara
moved to Leicester to present Leicester Sound's
late show in the week before the relaunch (where
the station was live and local for 24 hours a day,
no programming was shared with any other station).
Following the relaunch she became part of the
Morning Crew as co-presenter of the breakfast show
with Colin Wooley, as well as presenting a Sunday
afternoon show. Later in 1994, Colin was replaced on the breakfast show by Kenny Hague, Kenny and Sara worked well together, but the next change in breakfast show presenters brought together what I consider to be the best Morning Crew Leicester Sound has had Guy Morris and Guy Harris were brought in as the new Morning Crew, and Two Guys and a Girl was born. This combination was electric, and sent Leicestershire to work with a smile for nearly 2 years. During 1996, Guy Morris moved back to the Morning Show, and was replaced by Gary Burton, and the show became Gary, Guy and Sara. Early in 1997 Guy Harris left Leicester Sound for 2 TEN FM in Reading, and the Morning Crew became just Gary and Sara This partnership lasted until Sara left Leicester Sound in late 1997. She now presents the weather on various BBC local radio stations in the East Midlands as well as on East Midlands Today on TV. And in case you're wondering, the surname is real. Sara says: "I guess I was always going to get a job in weather with a name like Blizzard! |
